Whispers of Winter is a 2022 release for the winter holiday season, featuring a cover, a classic, and an original. This EP was intended to celebrate the darkest months of the year and the coldest days ahead. While we step into the darkness, we also know that soon, we'll be stepping back out into the light. As the snow begins to fall and the sunlight changes, we can find beauty in nature's changes. This short album celebrates the beauty of nature and the wintertime.
"All is Found" is a cover song from Disney's Frozen II movie. This version features multiple hammered dulcimer parts and warm mellow vocals.
"Carol of the Dulcimers" is a classic most will recognize, originally written by Mykola Leontovich, a Ukrainian composer. The original tune, called "Shchedryk" was written in 1916. This is a hammered dulcimer and keyboard version of this minor keyed holiday tune.
"Snow in Autumn" is an original piano and vocal piece written by Victoria K. Chapman as Aqueance. Victoria first wrote this song in 2011 and later completed writing it in 2014. The recording and mixing took place over a number of years and now has finally been released.
The artwork for this album was also created by Victoria K. Chapman. Named for the song it was created for, "Snow in Autumn" was illustrated with watercolors and gouache in 2022. The full painting will be included as part of an illustrated lyric book with the release of the full-length album. Album release TBD.
